I have created a collection of different pieces of furniture inspired by brutalism, and to learn how features of this architecture can enhance my approach to functional objects. By studying different aspects of brutalist architecture through literature review and interviews with relevant architectural experts, I formed the basics of understanding this particular style. I then analysed historic brutalist furniture, as well as contemporary interpretations of brutalism in product design. I furthered with developing my own interpretation through sketching and modeling process. The final result is a collection of 6 furniture pieces defined by derivatives of octagonal shape and characteristic 3D pattern.
